Ensure to check for any damaged components and inspect the connector pins for signs of being broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded Code Tech Notes There are factory service bulletins for the following Toyota models: 2005 Toyota Corolla 2006 Toyota Corolla 2007 Toyota Corolla 2005 Toyota. 1.0 To diagnose the P0016 Toyota code, it typically requires 1.0 hour of labor. The specific diagnosis time and labor rates at auto repair shops can vary based on factors such as location, vehicle make and model, and engine type. Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) Lack/Loss of power Engine rough idle Code P0015 Toyota Description In the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system, the appropriate intake and exhaust valve open and close timing is controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM). The ECM performs intake and exhaust valve control by performing the following: 1) controlling the camshaft and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly and operating the camshaft timing gear; and 2) changing the relative positions of the camshaft and crankshaft. To monitor the correlation of the intake camshaft position and crankshaft position, the ECM checks the VVT learned value while the engine is idling. The VVT learned value is calibrated based on the camshaft position and crankshaft position. The intake valve timing is set to the most retarded angle while the engine is idling. If the VVT learned value is out of the specified range in consecutive driving cycles, the ECM illuminates the MIL and stores Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0015.
